Welcome to Rag Hearts........

Hi all I have started on a new hobby of rag rugging and cushion making that I would like to share with you.

Firstly I was creating them for my own home as they make any room look homely and warm, and soon my friends and family were interested and I have been creating for them. And that has now lead to me setting up my own shops on folksy and ebay please check it out.

All of my materials are recycled so the colours in my designs may vary. I can make to your own colour and shape requirements.

I hope you like my designs and want a piece of my art in your home.

I am also a big art fan in general. I loved art at G.C.S.E level back in high school, it was then that I discovered that I was good at it. Then I took 2 art A-levels 3-d art and fine art, and a separate year long course that covered everything.

I really enjoyed the 3-d art especially the jewellery making that we got to try. I found the fine art quite restricting as we had to just copy like for like and I don't like concentrating on detail and accuracy. I love colour, shape and expression, big bright and bold are my favourite ways to work.

I enjoy looking at the shapes in plants and flowers and the forms and curves they make. I also take a big interest in their colour, colourful flowers really cheer me up.

I hope you enjoy my drawings and painting as much as I do xxx

Buttons....

I've had a great idea for some crafting with buttons, I've painted up 2 canvas's and am going to glue on multicoloured buttons in the shaped of 'N' for my daughter Natalya and 'C J' for my little one Cerys Jeanne. They will look really cute on the wall by their beds. I'm hoping they will be good seller for children's bedrooms, and with other designs on anywhere in the home, maybe the bathroom or kitchen.

Half way through a cushion order

I'm half way threw completing my order for 2 cushions, the customer wants pink green and black which I think look really nice together.

Union Jack rug...

I have started this union jack rug for a customer, and am really enjoying it, measuring it out took some time, but I love making rugs that aren't just random colours and have a pattern on them its more challenging. I can't wait to try out a union jack rug in girly colours I think that would look great.

Poorly me

Wow that sunday night didn't go to plan!

Instead of it being relaxing I ended up in hospital and by Wednesday I'd had my gall bladder removed!

I am recovering now and can't wait to get back to normal as I have an order for a rug and 3 cushions!

The surgeon was great, I am left with 4 tiny scars that in awhile I'm sure won't be noticeable, very pleased.

And some rag cushions.....

My first ever order....

When I got my first ever order from a none family member, I was over the moon, so excited to make it and impress my buyer. She asked for a rectangular rug, orange brown and white with speckles of red blue and green. When she received it she was made up with it.......

"Arrived today, it's fantastic.  I wanted to say so much on E-Bay feedback but not enough space.  You have been wonderful and it's very rare these days to find great customer service.  Once again thank you so much. Top notch."

Kindest regards

Pam

Cute designs.....

Children's rug....

I designed this for my girls bedroom, it brings alot of colour and fun...

Rag rug that turned into a wall hanging....

I love this heart shaped rag rug, made from our old pj's and t-shirts. After I made it I thought it would look nicer on my bedroom wall, the wall's in my room are all white so I thought it would be a good way to splash some colour on them. My 5yr old Natalya paniced when she saw me cutting up her old clothes and said 'I will have nothing to wear!' lol I promised her that I only used clothes that on-longer fitted her.

My first ever rag rug...

This is the first rag rug that I created. I designed it for my living room, I used red brown and cream material. It was all made with my old bedding....a great way of recycling!
